Mill District

The Mill District provides a boost to local hospitality and tourism businesses by allowing customers to purchase and take out alcoholic drinks in designated to-go cups from participating licensed businesses within its boundaries during City recognized special events. The Mill District encourages visitors and locals to explore more of Downtown RKY’s historic streets and parks, window shop, and discover new experiences at outdoor events.
The Mill District further engages with retailers, venues, restaurants/bars, residents, visitors, special events, and the community overall—creatively offering new amenities and a building a better workforce destination. Downtown RKY is a vibrant cultural destination.

Millstone Park

Created in 2019, Millstone Park is a 0.25-acre pocket park that was developed by the City of Richmond through a partnership with local citizen, Speedy Denny. It is open to the public daily and features over 45 millstones from mill houses in the Madison County Area and even some from Europe! This pocket park also helped inspire the name for our Millstone Festival. There is a beautiful mural created by Geoff Murphy and Graham Allen that creates a beautiful backdrop for the park. Millstones and mill houses are an important part of Madison County's history, as they provided a way for farmers and merchants to turn crops into usable products!
