Tidy Up The Corner Where You Live: Local Ladies Fight Litter

A group of ladies at Richmond’s Saint Andrews Condominiums formed a walking group several years ago. They meet most mornings to enjoy one another’s company and to get some exercise. At some point over the years, they added another activity to their walks—litter pick-up.
The group takes plastic bags along with them on their routes around the condos, up and down Tates Creek Avenue, and around neighboring streets. If they see litter, they pick it up for proper disposal. Using gloves and trash “grabbers” in their efforts, if a piece is a bit large, they seek out a nearby trash can to use.
