City of Richmond’s Public Works Welcomes New Equipment

In July of 2024, the Richmond City Commission voted to purchase a new street sweeping vehicle for the Public Works Department. Today, June 18, 2025, the new machine arrived ready to handle a busy festival and community event season.
The new vehicle replaces a seven-year-old sweeper with outdated features. The new vehicle uses patented technology to more efficiently pick up debris from the city’s streets in a more environmentally friendly manner.
